Coffee Shop Contributors
Hold weekly, bi-weekly or monthly gatherings at a local coffee shop that has agreed
to sponsor your program. Ask the coffee shop to donate a percentage of any food and
beverage purchased during that time to the Bed & Bread Club. (Look in "tools" for a
sample sponsor request letter!)

Bread Bake Sale
The power to end hunger is your hands — especially when you use them to bake
bread for hungry people coming to our soup kitchen or staying in our shelter, or to
sell to friends and neighbors, with proceeds going to the Bed & Bread Club.

Host a Bed & Bread Gathering
People often refer to the Bed & Bread Club as the Bed & "Breakfast" Club, which
is the foundation of this unique event. If you are associated with a church or other
group that meets on a regular basis, invite those friends to a fundraising breakfast — perhaps
at Easter during the holiday season. Pancakes are always a popular breakfast
menu item, but you could also use the event to showcase new recipes for
delicious breakfast items.

Organize a Quilting Bee and Sale
This event, of course, highlights the "bed" side of the Bed & Bread Club. Gather
a group to make quilts or other kinds of bed coverings to donate to The Salvation
Army's shelter. Or, auction them off at a special event where buyers can admire the
beautiful handiwork before they make an offer.
